My little household is suffering at the moment with each of us in various stages of colds and neither particularly pleased about it. I have been wading through the Net for some natural ways of speeding up the process towards full health (well, as close as we can manage), and decided that soup was the answer. That said, I looked through the BBC Good Food website for something healthy, tasty and filling and came across their recipe for Bacon, Bean and Pasta soup. Mmmmm. The photo stood out, along with the fact that we already had most of the ingrediants on our shelves and also the chance to use our alphabet pasta that was donated by a good friend who moved away recently. Check out the results. Delicious it was too!

Those are some gorgeous food porn shots! I want some NOW!
ReplyDeleteNomnom-looks gorgeous! Bet you enjoyed eating it as well!
ReplyDeleteChicken soup is apparently a big favourite with the Germans but I suck at making it! My mum always makes lentil soup in the winter with the stock and tender, delicious meet off a boiled ham. OMG, I am salivating at the thought..
Erik R. ha ha, thanks. I am getting a little obsessed with food photography. It's encouraging me to cook and eat more in order that I can photograph it!
ReplyDeleteCuppateaanyone - It was delicious. Sooooo full of flavour although the man with the serious cold could hardly taste any of it. I recommend it really! As for chicken soup, I must give that a try. I remember I was recommended to cook that whilst in labour!!! (by the German teacher of my birth prep class)Now, having been through labour, I can't in my right mind imagine cooking soup through contractions!!!
Mmm, looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteMy colleague swears by garlic to ward off colds. I tend to go with spicy stuff... chilli, curry. It clears the nose and you can actually taste it despite the cold! Might not go down so well with your little one though.
well I may well have to make a curry then as despite feeling better for a couple of days, I am now back to a full on cold!
