Brrr it's Cold Outside, Why Not Grow a Mo?

A couple of weeks back 'The Englander' excitedly announced that he will be growing a moustache throughout the month of November! I was confused, unsure and I must say a little excited. I have always wondered what it would be like to kiss a man with a moustache and November would be my chance at last. Will I like it? Will it tickle? Maybe. Probably. Wait a minute?! Why on Earth are you growing a moustache in November I asked myself? I then decided it would probably be best to actually ask him and the answer was ''Movember''. I had never heard of Movember myself but it turns out that it is a rather fantasticly set up charity that has been set up with the aim to raise funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other illnesses that affect men.

 Here's how it works...

''On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.''

Yes women, you have read correctly, you too can get in on the action. The brilliant Movember website gives you all the tips you need on growing moustaches, includes videos and photos for inspiration, information on Movember events going on in your area, prizes and competitions and more!

I have signed up myself and Milo and I will be joining 'The Englander' in celebrating Movember in style. We have already tried on moustaches and there will be a big event planned here in Berlin to celebrate and raise money. For those of you who are Berlin based or who simply want to support Berlin's Movember celebration, head on over to the Facebook event page 'Movember in Berlin - Changing the Face of Men's Health' and join. Please encourage your husbands/wives/girlfriends and boyfriends to take part in the worthy cause and to wear a moustache with pride!
