'In a Relationship'

Yesterday I changed my 'relationship status' on Facebook to 'In a Relationship'. It is a funny thing to do and although I can't truly explain it without sounding ''like a complete girl'' it is something that has some meaning for me. It was especially humorous as when I mentioned to one of 'The Ladies' yesterday that 'The Lawyer' and I are now officially boyfriend and girlfriend (I feel about 14 years old when I write that!) my friend's husband even asked ''have you changed it on Facebook yet?'' A sign of the times or what!

I saw 'The Lawyer' briefly today for the first time since we had 'THE conversation' and I must admit that I felt a little, hmmm what's the word?! embarrassed? No that's not quite right. Erm shy I guess. I felt a little like I couldn't look him in the eyes. Odd no?! I thought about this as Milo and I were making our way home from 'The Lawyer's' pad and I realised that it's been about 5 years since there's been anyone I call my 'boyfriend'. Not that there haven't been guys, there was 'A Certain Someone' afterall but we never had 'THE conversation' and I never did feel that we were in a relationship. This however is completely different. I knew very quickly that this could be something special and even more then that I felt confident that he felt the same way too. It's not often that you get that peace of mind with something so new. It's refreshing. None of that does he really like me rubbish. I've had enough being kept on my toes over and over and frankly my toes were rather worn out. Don't get me wrong though, despite the assurity of feelings on both sides I still quicken my pace when I know I am near to seeing him. Those butterflies flutter when I receive an email or text and last night as I was lying on my couch feeling exhausted and ill his phone call did just enough to make me feel oh so much better. Now that's what I want 'In a Relationship'.
